The Sharks are 8-1-1 in their last ten games and are four points ahead of the Blackhawks in top of the Western Conference.  Both Malholtra and Vlasic are expected to miss tonight’s game in Toronto becauce of injuries. Boyle was back in the lineup this weekend, which was important for the Sharks defense.

They will continue their roadtrip to Air Canada Center, where the Leafs have regain some energy after trading Phaneuf, Sjöström and Giguere to the team.  They have looked a lot better on the defense since the trades, but are a bit weaker on the offense.

The Sharks are the second highest scoring team in the league at 3.4 goals per game and have one of the best and heaviest 1stlines in the league with Heatley-Thornton-Marleau.
Toronto has the worst defence in the league allowing 3.4 goals per game.

The Sharks are the way better team in special teams too:
San Jose is third on the power play in the league at 23.2%. San Jose is third in penalty killing in the league at 86.3%. Toronto has the worst penalty killing in the league 71.0% and is 20th on the power play in the league at 17. 2%

Giguere vs. Nabokov(GAA 2.26, 92.7 save pct.) between the pipes. Even though Giguere has two straight clean sheets in his new club, I hold Nabokov as the better one in this matchup.
